In Carbogno Barnabè and Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs (Citizenship) [2024] AATA 1146 (17 May 2024), Kah Lawyers has successfully represented Ms Anna Carbogno Barnabè from Italy in renouncing her Australian citizenship before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) after her application was refused by the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, and Multicultural Affairs (the Minister). The AAT decided to set aside a decision made by the Minister and remitted the matter that Ms Barnabè meets the requirements of section 29(2)(a)(i) of the Australian Citizenship Act 2007 (Cth) (Act).
