How long does it take to process my application?

The average processing time varies depending on the type of citizenship application (conferral or descent). Citizenship by conferral applications are processed in approximately 18 to 21 months. Citizenship by descent applications are processed marginally faster between 54 days to 4 months. After approval, you will be invited to attend a ceremony to take your pledge within 3 months and you will receive your Citizenship Certificate at the ceremony.
