Kah Lawyers has successfully represented an asylum seeker from Iran in his Protection visa application before the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART). This was after the matter was remitted to the then-Immigration Assessment Authority by the Federal Circuit and Family Court for the second time.

The applicant, a non-practising Muslim from Iran, had converted to Christianity post-arrival and also actively participated in political activities in Australia. The ART accepted our argument that the applicant’s post-arrival conversion and political activities in Australia were genuine and not for the sole purpose of strengthening his refugee claims and he was finally recognised as a refugee.

The successful ART outcome is the culmination of the applicant’s over a decade long, litigious visa journey.
